Mom/Momtrepreneur (and all my other hats)

As this is my first post, let me introduce myself (in all my forms). First and foremost, I am a mom and a wife.  I work full time in Healthcare (which I absolutely love my job), and I am blessed to be able to work remotely.  Not only do I work full time, I also own my own business, River Rayz Travel (riverrayztravel.com), as a Travel Advisor.  I love to help people plan trips of any kind, and save money at the same time.  I love to work with people's budgets so that they can still travel and enjoy themselves! I plan any and all kinds of travel from All-Inclusives and Mystery Trips, (a client favorite) that I specialize in, to honeymoons, week-end getaways, cruises, Girl's/Guy's Trips, Disney and everything in between! You tell me where you want to go and when, give me your budget, and my job is to make it happen! Let's work on those travel dreams!

I became a Certified Medical Biller and Coder in May of 2025 and am working towards taking my state test to become certified with the state.  I never thought I would love coding as much as I do.  (Apparently, my inner nerd came out with it). On the healthcare topic, I am very passionate about insurance and teaching others that don't know the in's and out's of it, what I know.  Working in healthcare, I have had a multitude of calls from people (mostly the older generation) but also some of the younger as well.  They call in and think that they have received the best insurance, when in fact, they have been sold a terrible plan.  When I have to tell them that my company is not contracted with their insurance, it breaks my heart. Sometimes it it someone with cancer, or a serious health condition, and the last thing they want to hear is that they cannot come here because their insurance is not accepted.  There are far too many insurance agents out there that just "sell insurance," but don't care about the client and what they sell them.  It's just money in their pocket.  This is so unfair.  While not all insurance agents are this way, it's so unfortunate that many have become this way.  I have had people cry on the phone with me because they cannot move forward with care.  I want to be able to help educate people and make life easier so they understand more about what they are getting, and what key questions to ask.  Also, on the topic of healthcare, I want to help educate others on saving money who have been billed from hospitals or facilities and they should not be receiving a bill.  I want to help others make sure they are not just "paying a bill," without knowing what they are paying for or may possibly not even owe anything!

Here comes some fun! I am a chicken mom (to 7 chickens)! Each of them have their own personalities and I will have to share some photos of them in the near future! I lived my whole life having a dog, until we dealt with my son having severe allergies, leading him to have 2 sinus surgeries.  At the time, I had my beautiful husky, and had to do the hardest thing I have ever done, and rehome him. (But our kids have to come first!)

He is with an AMAZING family who loves him, and he has dog brothers and sisters (and yes I still have visitation).  When we realized how allergic my son was to dogs, we had to make sure the house was "fur-free." Unfortunately, our youngest is also getting the same allergies as well.  I had to focus on doing something else (which I didn't know how to do after being a dog mom/owner for so long- my entire life).  I shifted my focus on outdoor animals and found my love for chickens! We benefit by having the fresh eggs and chickens are actually quite entertaining.  Having chickens the last 2 years, I have learned so much about them!

I am a mom of many talents, and just want to share these with everyone! I will post about different topics as I go and if anyone has any suggestions or topics they would like me to talk about, please let me know! I am no expert at anything, but I have a lot to share and can hopefully help a lot of people! Maybe I can inspire some of you, who may be at a time in their lives where they don't know what they want to do, or just need to be inspired to do something new! Stay tuned for helpful and fun information moving forward!
