Adoption-Living the Trauma

       Adoption is an amazing thing to endure.  Whether you have been adopted or are adopting a child, or even giving up a child for adoption, it all has it's ups and downs.  I am an adoptee .  I never really knew my full story until I met my birth family when I was 25.  Growing up, I never knew where I came from or who I really was. My parents did tell me that I was adopted but that was all they were willing to share.  Even though it was a closed adoption , I always knew that they knew more than they let on.          At age 25, I was able to find my adoption agency (my adopted mom had told me), and reached out to them.  The only thing they could offer was a website that I could post on to potentially find them.  After posting, not long after and miraculously enough, my birth mom reached out.  I was very hesitant to believe it was her until she sent me a photo of herself.  It was then that I crie...

Mom 24/7

        First and foremost, I am a mom 24/7 as well as a wife of 15 years.  You don't get a break from being a Mom.  Your kids are always and always will be your kids. I am so very grateful to be a mom and all 3 of my kids are a blessing.  Trust me, I understand that we DO need a break sometimes.  When you have a teenager and a 4-year old in the house, they both come with their own set of challenges.  Now, I'm not saying that we don't ever need a break.  Mentally, if we never took some time for ourselves, we would all loose our minds! This may look a lot different for everyone. Some moms may take a bath at night, once everyone is in bed, to regroup from the day or even have a glass of wine once the house is quiet.  Others may get their nails done once in awhile, treat themselves to a massage, or maybe a pedicure.  Listen moms, we all need self-care sometimes.  I am guilty at times, or forgetting about myself, because I am ...

        As this is my first post, let me introduce myself (in all my forms). First and foremost, I am a mom and a wife.  I work full time in Healthcare (which I absolutely love my job), and I am blessed to be able to work remotely.  Not only do I work full time, I also own my own business, River Rayz Travel (riverrayztravel.com), as a Travel Advisor.  I love to help people plan trips of any kind, and save money at the same time.  I love to work with people's budgets so that they can still travel and enjoy themselves! I plan any and all kinds of travel from All-Inclusives and Mystery Trips, (a client favorite) that I specialize in, to honeymoons, week-end getaways, cruises, Girl's/Guy's Trips, Disney and everything in between!
